We have investigated this further with our phone provider Twilio. US Carrier rules and CTIA/TCPA guidelines require all the standard keywords (the ones listed in my previous post) allow the person to opt out of future messages.

This has been reviewed. If a client texts just the words: Stop, Cancel, Unsubscribe, End, or Quit and nothing else in their response - it automatically unsubscribes the number from SMS. This is an automatic function of the SMS infrastructure.
If you ask your clients to respond to a message to cancel, it is recommended that in your message states something similar to "Cancel Move" to cancel the job and still keep them on the list to receive SMS if they change their mind.
